Robert Durham

GA, US
A world class innovator and the creator of Social Media Hive Technology

With experience in retail, customer service, business management, and various technology specialties, Robert Durham is uniquely equipped to understand real world needs and develop innovative, effective solutions. Robert taught himself to program while still in high school at a time when the personal computer was just emerging into the marketplace.  Innovation would be the hallmark of his career, first at Mercer University where he refined thier programming simulations and data analysis solutions before most chemist knew how to turn on a computer.

After Mercer, Robert introduced the use of automation to radio stations across Georgia, reducing costs and increasing profitability while providing outstanding listener experiences. At the time, this was an unheard of result in broadcasting. The automation was so seamless that when surveyed, most listeners were convinced the automated stations were staffed live by their favorite on air personalities.

Robert next joined the nascent document imaging group of Alco Standard, a multinational conglomerate.  During his tenure, the company moved from traditional analog technologies to the cutting edge of digital document management systems, Robert combined these disparate technologies from multiple manufactures into cohesive turnkey solutions.  Robert  also co-developed an innovative customer service training program for Alco Standard that resulted in unprecedented increases in customer satisfaction and retention.

Robert left Alco Standard in 1994 to join an innovative medical facility that combined the best medical care with then innovative ideas of preventive health and proven osteopathic treatment methods.  The practice quickly developed a reputation for outstanding patient care.  As a result of growth, Robert planned and executed a facility upgrade program that resulted in a quadrupling of providers and patients. The practice did not just provide ground breaking medical care, it was a proving ground for such new technologies as electronic billing, electronic medical records and even electronic patient initiated laboratory testing and drug testing.   Robert even pioneered online internet based workplace drug screening in 1998, two years before the major laboratories considered the concept.

After a break to recuperate from a life-threatening auto accident in the late 1990's, Robert returned to the work force as a team member for big-box retailer Circuit City.  Robert spent 14 years with Circuit City serving in many capacities in both sales and operations.  Throughout his time with Circuit City, he continued to consult for companies on technology related issues ranging from software development to hardware selection and systems design and configuration.

After the demise of Circuit City, Robert joined High Alert International where his first project was the development of the Social Media Hive concept.  As a part of High Alert's senior management team, Robert oversees the development of both the internal corporate infrastructure and the creation of new and innovative technology products for use in the critical incident management market. Robert brings wit, wisdom and a quarter century of IT innovation to the platform and to technology audiences looking for the next big thing.
