George Pitagorsky
"I see things as they might be while keeping a foot firmly planted in reality. I work to help implement managed change to improve performance." George Pitagorsky
George Pitagorsky is a master management consultant and facilitator. He works to improve personal, group and organizational performance and quality.
George has two strands in his work. On one, he works with individuals to teach open-minded mindfulness as a base for personal growth. He is a recognized teacher and workshop leader in this area. On the other strand, he has been involved in the professional services, training and publishing fields and has extensive experience with large corporate, global clients.
As a management consultant, George assists clients in the area of project and engagement management (from both the client and supplier perspectives). He assesses organizational maturity and competency, and works to implement improvement and methodology implementation. For example, in a recent project for an national scope engineering consulting firm he directed a team to assess project management (PM) performance in an engagement management context, identify improvement and change management requirements, and create a program plan to implement PM improvement. He has also played an important role in the development of a formal PM Competency Model for a global consulting and training organization and its use in assessing large complex organizations in financial services IT and engineering consulting.
George has been instrumental in the conception and development of the project management curriculum and core courses of a global training services provider. He was also part of the team that conceptualized a global training provider's business analysis curriculum. He is a widely respected teacher. In the words of one student, "George is an expert in his field. He has a way of teaching people when they do not know they are being taught!"
George's unique background includes the practices of Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan and meditation. He has mastered the ability to merge these practices and their underlying principles into an active family and business life. He has authored The Zen Approach to Project Management, the Working Wisely Workshop and the Conscious Living/Conscious Working program.
He leads workshops on Change Managemnt, Project Management, Performance Improvement, Conscious Aging, Optimal Energy and other organizational and personal growth topics. He is a recognized teacher of Insight Meditation.
George Pitagorsky has authored many articles and papers and has been key note speaker on a range of topics that include the Zen Approach, Open Minded Mindfulness, Performance Improvement through Process Thinking, Change Management, among others.
