Dr. Loren Murfield wasn't voted one of the most likely to succeed nor end up in jail. He was expected to just be an ordinary worker, but that isn't what happened. As a middle child of 8 and the 4th of 5 boys, no one expected he would do anything significant - especially when he worked manual labor jobs for 12 years after high school. No one expected him to go to college at age 30, much less earn his Master's and Ph.D. No one expected him to teach college, especially in the northeast, or serve as department chair. If that isn't enough, no one expected him to become an entrepreneur or teach in a graduate leadership program, work with a Heisman winner or write 8 books in one year.
