After a successful career as a petroleum geologist, Kimaka went into business for herself, building Refining Redefining in Houston, TX from a spare room in her home.  Her vision was to "refine the way professionals redefine themselves" by providing training that not only offers tips to change behaviors, but influences participants to change the perceptions that lead to their old habits.  Today, Kimaka's clients include an impressive list of Fortune 500 companies, industry associations, and academic conferences. 

Beyond her success as an entrepreneur and author, Kimaka has been featured in the news and on radio shows throughout the country. 

Kimaka graduated from Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, GA with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry.  She continued her education, earning a Master's Degree in Geology at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK before entering the oil & gas industry.  Before forming her own company, Kimaka was a successful Senior Geologist with ExxonMobil.
