Entrepreneur and Inventor: Doug founded The Leader's Institute® in 2002 and in the last decade, he has grown this organization into one of the largest and fastest growing soft-skills consulting firms in the world. He has trained over 25 world-class professional speakers and trainers. He also invented a whole industry called philanthropic team building when he created The Build-A-Bike® team building workshop that partners team building with charitable philanthropy. He created and owns the trademarks for Build-A-Bike®, Fearless Presentations®, Public Speaking Secrets®, The Rescue Bear Workshop®, and The Leader's Institute®.
NCAA Athlete: Doug walked-on to play college football as an outside linebacker for Texas Tech University and his work ethic helped him become a very popular leader among his teammates. Doug ended up earning a scholarship and graduating from Texas Tech with honors. This experience offered Doug unique incites into leadership and communication that he carried over into the business world.
Husband and Father: Doug's greatest success has been his ability to work hard enough to allow his wife, Laoise, to be a full-time mom to their two kids, Colleen and Benjamin. His career allows him to be a full-time dad as well.
