Though Shannon's background is pet-related, she shares her life lessons (learned from surviving a nearly-fatal dog attack) and business savvy (learned from surviving during difficult economic times) to mainstream audiences around the world. Shannon will breath life into your next event...
HER PEDIGREE
Most little girls in fourth grade play with dolls or worry about boy germs. But not Shannon Heggem. She was too busy operating a dog grooming business that she had started on her own in her parents' backyard.
Even at age nine Shannon recognized the power of marketing when she ordered a rubber address stamp and "stamped" out her first business cards. But this was just the beginning for this born entrepreneur.
Shannon has always been a business visionary. After college, Shannon returned to her rural Montana hometown where she opened a hugely successful luxury pet resort and spa. Recognizing the growth potential for high-end pet services, Shannon then established a consulting practice to help other pet care providers design and market this brand-new niche concept around the nation.
A TURNING POINT
In 1998 Shannon didn't allow a nearly-fatal Rottweiler attack to slow down her momentum. Determined to overcome the misfortune, Shannon used her extensive recuperation time to brainstorm her next business move. She focused her efforts on expanding her consulting services by developing the first pet career vocational school in Montana. Again relying on her business instincts, Shannon's promoted her school through an effective website and speaking appearances. The school was an immediate success; Grooming Boot Camp attracts students from all over the world. And Shannon was soon hailed as the marketing guru in the service business industry.
HELPING OTHERS
As a pet business consultant, Shannon helps service-based professionals "sniff out" their unique qualities and challenges them to develop strong, prosperous niche markets.
