MS, USJay Fitch is internationally recognized for leadership as a consultant, educator and innovator in the fields of Emergency Medical Services and public safety. His body of work, spanning nearly 40 years, includes the development and implementation of original operational and strategic solutions for individual organizations, as well as the broader systems in which they operate.
From these varied experiences, Jay learned to value many perspectives-from patient to caregiver to public official-that go into creating exemplary EMS/public safety programs. Since 1984, the consulting team at Fitch & Associates have worked with small and large organizations throughout the world, helping make sense of their current situations and providing a path toward greater success.
Jay is in demand as a speaker and author. He has held academic appointments at The George Washington University, The University of Kansas and Royal Roads University (Canada). He has written and spoken extensively, contributing hundreds of articles and seminars to enhance the profession. He was the lead author for the highly regarded textbook Beyond the Street: A Handbook for EMS Leadership and Management and is the editor of Prehospital Care Administration.
He serves on the Editorial Boards of JEMS (Journal of Emergency Medical Services) and Best Practices in Emergency Services.
