Dave Maurer is the president of Dave Maurer Consulting, located in Northern Virginia.
Dave Maurer Consulting provides an array of speaking, consulting, and training services to a variety of audiences and participants. Audiences have included the FBI, the CIA, the World Bank, The military departments, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, the Seton Hall University Leader Development Program, Several Project Management chapters, other government agencies and private industry.
Dave is a native of Trenton, New Jersey and earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Seton Hall University and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served in a wide variety of command and staff positions in the United States and overseas throughout his 22-year military career. His service included tours with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the Joint Staff in the Pentagon and culminated as the Adjutant General at the United States Military Academy at West Point. In the 20+ years since his retirement from the Army, he has served in senior leadership positions in several companies in Northern Virginia in support of contracts with the Labor Department, DoD, the VA, and the city of Washington, D.C.
He holds a master's degree in management from Central Michigan University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has always been active in the community, serving as a director of several civic organizations and as a Hospice volunteer. He has served as a member of the board of directors of the USO of Metropolitan New York City, and local chapters of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Association of the United States Army and the Military Officers Association of America. He is a member of the editorial board for GI Jobs Magazine.
He has presented at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. and has guest lectured for Seton Hall University, the Virginia Tech Executive MBA Program, the University of Maryland's MBA Program and other universities. Dave is a member of the National Speakers Association and the author or co-author of several books and articles on leadership, career transition, Project Management and professional development.
