Addressing diversity and multicultural issues, cross-cultural training, and diverse workforce management, internationally recognized speaker and author Amy Tolbert Ph.D., CSP, trains and consults organizations to develop the multicultural competencies needed to increase organizational influence in today's global workplace.

Dr. Tolbert is principal of ECCO International, a global consulting firm specializing in increasing organizational and personal effectiveness through e-learning, technology and facilitated learning. ECCO International's diverse client list includes 3M, Andersen Windows, Best Buy, FBI, Ford Motor Company, IBM, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mayo Clinic, Thomson Reuters, and the United Way.

Dr. Tolbert earned her Ph.D. in human resource development focusing on cross-cultural and diversity education and training from the University of Minnesota where she currently serves on several boards and as a fellow at the Carlson School of Management.

After years of researching the need for multicultural competency in the increasingly global workforce, she published Reversing the Ostrich Approach to Diversity: Pulling Your Head Out of the Sand, a timely answer to the renewed urgency for actionable diversity education. Amy has also co-authored the Open Mind, Open World global communications training program, Discovering Diversity Profile, 50 Activities for Achieving Excellent Customer Service, Developing Talent for Organizational Results, and The Princess Principle: Women Helping Women Discover their Royal Spirit.

Dr. Tolbert holds the CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designation from the National Speakers Association, of which she served as vice chair of the Diversity PEG for three years. Amy has also served as president of the Minnesota NSA chapter and received the Chapter Member of the Year and Next Level awards in 2009.

In 2010, Dr. Tolbert received the Best of St. Paul Award in Human Resource Consulting Services by the U.S. Commerce Association. She has also been recognized as a Who's Who among U.S. Executives and Inscape Publishing's Ruby Award winner, a level achieved by less than one percent of Inscape's global consultants.

Dr. Tolbert has served as co-president of the American Society for Training and Development- Southern Minnesota chapter (ASTD-SM), a board member and partner at hrConnection, member and published author of the referred journal of the International Society for International Education, Training and Research (SIETAR), and a member of the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE).
