ABOUT STEVE
Steve is a full time professional speaker on the international stage, and a best-selling author with his latest book on government procurement set for release late this summer published by LexisNexis. His topics cover all areas of procurement including the construction industry related to tendering private, and public sector contracts.
His commitment to a disciplined strategic management approach derives from more than 35 years of diverse international experience. He worked for Dofasco Inc. from 1973 - 1993, and then joined Johnson Machinery Inc. in New York City, as a member of its senior management team. He then moved to government in 2001 as the purchasing manager for the City of Hamilton, and thereafter joined the Ontario General Contractors Association as its vice president in 2006. Due to an overwhelming demand, Steve made the transition to full time professional speaking, which enables him to pursue his passion for engaging audiences in the genre of supply chain management.
Steve is an internationally recognized authority on the qualities of leadership, public procurement, and for the past 20 years, he has been a frequent speaker on these topics. He has presented at national conferences run by such organizations as the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, The Leadership Round Table, Public Private Partnership Conference, OGCA, Summit Magazine, Canadian Public Procurement Council, as well as numerous Fortune 500 companies. He is the co-author of two major books which include "The Municipal Procurement Handbook", and "Leadership, or The Lack Thereof".
At the present time, Steve is on the board of directors of the OIPMAC, and contributes to regular monthly articles, and is a member of the editorial board of Summit Magazine (Canada's Journal of Public Procurement).
