Laurie Calzada
Laurie is a true survivor in every sense of the word. At an early age she learned that if she could endure her childhood, then she could survive anything. She was raised by a single mother in a very low income environment, abandoned by her father, sexually abused by an Uncle for years, beaten repeatedly with a belt throughout her childhood, raped by a teenage boy in High School, and then kicked out of home at the age of 18. Several years later her mother abandoned the family and disappeared. Her life has been a life of trials, tribulations, and abandonment. However, her message is about inspiration and overcoming all of the trials in life... personally and professionally.
Ms. Calzada is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, consultant and trainer with over 20 years of experience. She has written and presented on many topics such as leadership, mastering change, coaching, living your life with passion, technology and sales. She also has dedicated the last several years to child advocacy and child abuse prevention. Her focus is to motivate those who have a desire to excel, and she is a believer that you can accomplish anything with enough determination and ambition. Her outstanding career has allowed her to consult and present for hundreds of Fortune 1,000 companies as well as non-profit organizations, and has hosted and emceed many fund raising events for causes she believes in so dearly.
As an International Author and Speaker, she helps people find their passion in life, teaches them to embrace change and opportunities, and lets them know they leave a fingerprint on other people's lives. She believes you should never give up, and never let the trials of your past dictate the blessings of your future. Currently she is the author of "Inspiring Passion in Others" and "180 Ways to Effectively Deal with Change." She is currently writing her third and fourth book simultaneously, "Nine Principles to Living Your Life With Passion," and "Abuse is No Excuse: Breaking the Cycle."
With an entrepreneurial spirit, she has successfully founded or co-founded seven different operations over the past 20 years. Recently selling her fifth business, she currently still owns and operates two corporations: Dynamic Approach, and Sharp Approach. She is known as a leader in the business community, a humanitarian to all. She has been asked to be a board member of several corporations and non-profit organizations. Ms. Calzada began her career 20 years ago while studying Marketing at the University of Maryland, European Division in Oxford, England. In addition, she received a certificate of Broadcast Journalism.
