Ted Jaleta

SK, CANADA
To overcome profound loss and unthinkable horrors, Ted never gave up and now inspires others to achieve goals through commitment and perseverance.

Born in Ethiopia with many challenges before him, Ted Jaleta's experiences range from walking for hours to and from school as a child to surviving the filth of a refugee camp in Africa to the thrill of being sponsored as an internationally-ranked elite athelete in North America. He has been recognized with numerous awards including induction into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Ted has achieved advanced positions with the Canadian government (CRA); coached athletes locally, provincially and through the University of Regina track program; and addressed hundreds of business, community and school groups.

Ted Jaleta can present to your group on topics such as:
Regaining hope and courage when times are tough

Overcoming challenges with adapting to new cultures and managing diversity issues

Setting and achieving goals

Focusing on the importance of health and wellness in the community and corporate culture

Valuing the importance of education for youth and lifelong learners

Ted has many life-changing messages:
"Turn obstacles into opportunities."
"Dream, visualize and believe in your success."
"Achieve greatness through the power of positive thinking with focused intentions."
"There is always hope, even through adversity. Never give up."

Ted inspires others to achieve goals through commitment and perseverance. He demonstrates how thinking positively can free one from life's negative challenges and he encourages people to dream their dreams, live their dreams, defeat obstacles and become who they are meant to be. His attitude towards life is "to recognize there is a positive in every situation, a lesson to be learned in everything, and that positive attitude combined with commitment can see you through adversity. There is always hope.  Just believe!"
