Rich Kiamco
His one-man show UNACCESSORIZED, an autobiopic romp about a queer Filipino overachiever, received the Overall Excellence Award in Solo Performance at the New York International Fringe Festival and Best Solo Performance at the 2005 Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival. He received standing ovations at both True Colors, the world's largest LGBTIQQA youth conference and at FACT Filipino Americans Coming Together, the largest Midwest gathering of Filipino American students. Rich Kiamco is a force of nature that rips across the stage leaving laughter, tears and applause in his wake.
Kiamco whirls through hate crimes, cross-cultural conflicts, coming out, parental academic expectations and self-fulfillment. Through sharp humor, poignant truth, lush sound design and crisp choreography, his story shreds cultural legacy into a hilariously insightful adventure.
Rich was featured on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Q Television's Queer Edge. He has also performed with comedian Judy Tenuta as her dancer/sidekick in Las Vegas, on The Howard Stern Show, and venues nationwide. His writing appears in Take Out: Queer Writing From Asian Pacific America, and Queer Stories for Boys.
