
Hongzhe Sun
Hongzhe Sun is one of the greatest swimmers Stanford has ever produced continuing the long line of world class backstokers the school has developed. In 2006, Hong posted the 2nd fastest time in school history. Not bad considering the Stanford is known not only for the top backstrokers in the country but also in the world. Hong will continue his quest for a spot on the 2008 US Olympic Team as he competes in the World University Games for team USA in the summer of 2007. In addition to his success in the pool Hong is a true scholar having earned numerous academic awards. His major is Management, Science, and Engineering.
Hongzhe Sun has become an ambassador for swimming in his home state of Hawaii and because of his Chinese-American heritage in sport of swimming leading into the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Along with his dream of making the US Olympic team, Hong, as he is known to his friends, hopes to help inspire youth through motivational speaking and youth clinics.He is currently training six days a week in hopes making the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China.
