On Sept. 11, 2002, while a senior in college, Matt was diagnosed with cancer. It would spread to his brain and he slipped into an unconscious state. His doctors did not think he would live. Against all odds, Matt recovered, went through a successful bone marrow transplant, and had to relearn how to walk.
He has run marathons on five continents (North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Australia). He is working on running a marathon on every continent. He is the author of several books including Life's a Marathon.
Matt is also the founder of the R.E.A.L. Leadership Academy and is a PhD Candidate in Organizational Leadership. Matt travel around the country firing up, pumping up, and inspiring audience to develop their Marathon Mentality in order to overcome challenges, stay motivated, and achieve greater victory.
