When Pat Tobin founded Tobin & Associates 19 years ago, few in the industry had ever heard of an African American-owned, woman-operated, public relations firm. The networking guru and much sought-after speaker, has served as a panelist at the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers Women's Coalition Forum as a keynote speaker at the Mary McLeod Bethune Luncheon held by the National Council of Negro Women and annually emcees the Black Women's Network Conference. Pat often co-hosts a radio show "Rhythms of the Night" on KJLH, 102.3 FM in Los Angeles, where she shares information about client activities and updates listeners on community events. Her professional and personal networks stretch far and wide, and include clients such as Toyota, ACT-1 Personnel Services, Black Entertainment Television (BET), The Ultimate Group, The Black Journalists Association of Southern California and Essence Communications. She is co-founder and currently serves as the President of the National Black Public Relations Society, is a member and former member of the Board of Directors of Women in Film and serves on the Planning Committee for the Children's Defense Fund. Tobin also serves as an instructor at UCLA's Extension Program in Public Relations.
