Tajuana began writing poetry at the age of 16. After college she worked in trade magazine publishing for awhile then, feeling unfulfilled and stifled, stepped out on faith and began freelance writing and graphic design.

At age 26 she founded Lavelle Publishing and released her first book a collection of poetry she titled Desire of a Woman: Poems Celebrating Womanhood. This author of the novel Sorority Sisters, The Night Before Thirty, and the upcoming Just My Luck and another collection of poetry Possibilities, Tajuana has also written the number one Essence magazine bestseller Hand-Me-Down Heartache.

Recently she completed her first short film and is working on the next while developing her skills as both an actress and director. She is a gifted public speaker with a message that will be enjoyed by everyone.
