A’Darius “Coach AD” Pegues is an international keynote speaker, mindset performance coach, author, and eight-year professional basketball veteran who competed in 23 countries. With more than 20 years of experience in sports, education, and youth development, Coach AD empowers teams to transform adversity into advantage.
A former NCAA Division I athlete and Uganda Silverbacks national team co-captain, Coach AD earned FIBA gold and silver medals while competing internationally. His basketball journey includes competing in the inaugural Basketball Africa League season and building relationships across cultures through sport.
Beyond the court, Coach AD has dedicated his career to developing people through coaching, education, leadership, and youth empowerment. He has spoken at the 2025 FIBA Youth AfroBasket and presented to University of Louisville Upward Bound students, using his experiences to help audiences recognize their potential and approach challenges with a new perspective.
Having overcome significant personal and professional adversity, including homelessness and multiple ACL surgeries, Coach AD understands that success is built through persistence, discipline, and a commitment to growth.
