Philip Roos has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Univesity of Texas and degrees in biology and psychology from Stanford University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with Highest Distinction. He is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Approved Consultant in Clinical Hypnosis.
He has been an Associate Professor of psychology at Texas Christian Univesity and on the adjunct faculty of several other universities.
In addition to almost three decades counseling with individual clients and couples, Dr. Roos has an extensive carreer as a top level executive. He was an Associate Commissioner in the Mental Health Departments of Texas and New york, and was the National Executive Director of the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) and MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).
Dr. Roos has published extensively in the professional mental health literature. His latest book, How to Take Charge of Your Feelings, Actions, Life (2006), shows in lay terms how to disconnect the buttons others push to control your life and eliminate problems with anger, guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationships.
A popular speaker and trainer, Dr. Roos has presented throughout the country and abroad. He has appeared on the Today Show, a Barbara Walter Special, and the 700 Club, as well as numerous local and regional radio and TV shows.
