Muscle Your Way Through Menopause

As women age, they experience both muscle and bone mass loss each year. In this presentation, Sherman-Wolin teaches women techniques for healthy aging, the importance of building and maintaining muscle and bone and demonstrates how to go about this safely, conveniently and inexpensively. Participants will learn how to use proper form and technique and how to use various resistance mechanisms, dumbbells, resistance bands, and physio balls, both in the privacy of a home setting or in a commercial fitness club.

Stop Aging! Start Exercising!

The United States is on the brink of a longevity revolution and by 2030 the number of older Americans will have doubled to more than 70 million. Along with the aging of the population is the increase in chronic and life-threatening diseases, many of which can be avoided through known prevention measures, including regular physical activity. In this presentation, Sherman-Wolin provides instruction on how to perform specific exercises and outlines a general exercise prescription so that the audience is knowledgeable and motivated to begin a regular course of health fitness immediately.

Believing that exercise is the gift you give yourself everyday, Sherman-Wolin's presentations provides tips that will enable women to hold on to motivation and help them banish the negative "I can't" voice in their heads. Participants learn how to start listening to their "I can" voices, examining more closely what is blocking a healthier lifestyle and separating exercise myths from reality.
