Valencia Giles is a passionate music educator, successful entrepreneur, and dedicated community leader who expertly balances a thriving business with family life and impactful mentorship. As the founder and director of the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music, Valencia built a debt-free business from the ground up since 2009, starting with just $5,000 borrowed from family. Her resilience has carried her through personal health challenges and economic recessions while maintaining a steadfast commitment to excellence.

Valencia’s national profile was elevated when she was featured in a CNBC commercial that has received over 8 million views on social media alone, with additional exposure through broadcasts on major television networks across the country. The commercial highlights her inspiring journey as a successful business owner and community leader in Georgia.

Her school employs over 60 teachers and serves more than 1,200 students, providing top-tier music education while supporting the broader community, including foster families, orphans, and senior citizens. In 2023, Valencia’s composed music was performed at Carnegie Hall, and she led her students there again in October 2025 — a milestone reflecting the school’s growth and impact. Her entrepreneurial story was also featured in the documentary short film Beyond the Music: The Untold Story, which premiered at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.

Valencia has been married for over 39 years and is the proud mother of three adult children. She actively leads women and young adults through workshops and community programs focused on leadership and personal growth.

A lifelong musician, Valencia graduated with honors from Alabama A&M University with a double major in flute and piano. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the author of Beaker’s House of Music — a note theory curriculum, a children’s recording artist, and a composer. She is dedicated to teaching children character-building lessons about self-worth and excellence.

Valencia also consults with music teachers, offering professional advice on student retention, career development, and performance preparation. She developed a unique music education system that supports students of all ages and fosters a lifelong love of music.

As a dynamic speaker, Valencia motivates audiences to pursue their talents, overcome challenges, and balance the many roles of life with grace and determination. Available for corporate events, conferences, nonprofit functions, and media interviews, she brings warmth, insight, and inspiration to every engagement.

After having the opportunity of getting to know Valencia both as a person and business professional, I was extremely impressed and inspired by Valencia’s story of how she overcame many challenges earlier in her career. In spite of these challenges, Valencia was able to open the Lawrenceville School of Music with only just a few students. As of 2026, Valencia now has multiple locations with over 1,200 students and has made and continues to make a significant impact within the community! Valencia has inspired me to continue to serve and help others as well! Continued blessings and success Valencia!
