Jim Morris was a high school science teacher and coach in West Texas who defied all odds and made it to Major League Baseball at the age of 35. The catalyst for his journey was an infamous bet made with his baseball team, which led him to try out for the MLB Tampa Bay Devil Rays. With his incredible left-handed fast pitch reaching speeds of 98 mph, Morris earned an invite to join the Devil Rays’ minor league organization.
