Rashmi Airan

FL, US

This is a memorable Game-Changer!! This former felon, lawyer, and banker vulnerably shares her relatable story focused on DHARMA leadership, accountability, adaptability, and relationships!

Rashmi Airan is a renowned speaker and consultant committed to fostering organizational cultures built on principles of integrity, authenticity, and accountability. Her journey isn't just about the consequences of unwittingly getting caught up in a poor decision; it's a story of leadership, core values, and decision-making that can create a safe environment for courageous and sometimes challenging conversations.

As a first-generation immigrant from Indian parents and the eldest of three daughters, Rashmi was raised with high expectations for achievement. Alongside her role as a mother of two, she excelled as a lawyer, graduating with honors from Columbia Law School. After gaining experience in several major corporations, she established her independent law practice in Miami, Florida. During the housing boom, she was recruited to work with a local real estate developer who later engaged in questionable business practices. Rashmi's pursuit of financial success and providing the best life for her children created an ethical blind spot. She chose not to question her client's behavior despite her inner voice urging her to do so. Her involvement led to her sentencing to Federal prison for bank fraud, along with a multi-million dollar judgment against her future earnings, mandatory community service, and three years of supervised release.

During her six months in federal prison, Rashmi found peace and self-forgiveness. This life-changing experience humbled her greatly but also provided invaluable personal and professional lessons. She learned that living with remorse is one thing, but not letting it define you is another.

Today, Rashmi is a "recovering lawyer and investment banker," a female leader, and an entrepreneur in her community. She is also an internationally recognized keynote speaker and TEDx presenter, with clients including Coca-Cola, Medtronic, Brown University, Hershey's, the FBI, Sotheby's, MGM Resorts, and Columbia Law School. Leveraging her extensive legal, business, and community expertise, Rashmi shares her powerful story to convey crucial messages to universities, law firms, corporations, global multinationals, and trade associations. She is determined to use her story to illustrate the myriad factors that influence our choices and to emphasize the business discipline essential for decision-making.

Rashmi redefines success and highlights the importance of accountability and emotional intelligence in our ever-evolving global culture.
