Karin works with businesses to elevate and re-think workplace dynamics.

Ms. Lund was one of the first women in North America to be hired by a major integrated steel mill for an outside sales position. Her journey began at Jones & Laughlin Steel in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Lund was later recruited by Co-Steel, a Canadian steel company, who was expanding into the US market. This expansion led to the company building a cutting-edge wire rod mill and electric furnace melt shop in NJ.

She was promoted to regional manager overseeing an international sales territory with annual sales of $240M in today’s currency. At the request of legal counsel, Lund testified twice before the International Trade Commission in trade cases. She received three Certificates of Outstanding Service from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) recognizing her recruiting efforts to encourage college seniors, particularly women, to join the steel industry.

Ms. Lund is an international speaker and Amazon best-selling author of Volume I & Volume II of Women In Steel, Women Of Steel, Compassion Is the Competitive Edge-Leading with Compassion while Delivering Results and the Language of Loss-Breaking the Silence-Starting Conversations at Work and Home. Her online program, Your Journey through the Islands of Life and Loss was developed to help employers assist their employees in navigating significant life events.

Working with Congressman Kelly in the 16th District, Lund has created a comprehensive STEM/STEAM program for 8-12th grade girls called STEAM Rising-Tech & Trades-Build, Think, Lead, to help young women recognize the career opportunities that are available in manufacturing and steel. As part of the program, her upcoming book titled, Yes-You Matter, You are Enough is crafted for young individuals to understand the importance of owning their decisions, taking responsibility for choices, not transferring your decision making to anyone else, and self-reliance.
