The War for Talent, Retention and the Future of Work - calculated risks, learning from failures and organizational structures that are appealing to minorities, leaders and change makers.
My professional work, written books and areas of research and interest revolve around the future of work and the future of talent. The first half of my career was in executive search, the second half in talent management and organizational development. My keynote speeches revolved around modern workplace dynamics, how organizations can succeed with clarity around Mission, Vision and Values, case studies of companies that have failed to innovate with people and culture as well as inspirational success stories of those that got it right.
My speeches, regardless of subject, have the following feature that audiences can expect - practical and applicable tools and solutions, stories to illustrate the salient points and inspirational personal stories of my life growing up in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War and my evolution as an immigrant in the United States where I arrived for my undergraduate education. Education changed my family's trajectory, as did the powerful women in the family who shaped me. My consulting work has focused on dynamics of leadership teams, with a particular focus on actionable outcomes and measured ROI.
My personal stories include my time working as Sous Chef of a James Beard Award Winning executive chef, becoming the first person from Bangladesh to complete the Ironman Triathlon, working as a Yoga Teacher, serving as a certified Rescue Scuba Diver, competitive Sailing, racing motorcycles in Virginia, flying airplanes out of Boeing Airfield and jumping out of them as a skydiver. I am also a competitive snowboarder and long distance runner.
