Some people wonder whether leaders are born or made. What really matters is whether leaders are being made right now!

A career US Army officer and a certified John Maxwell speaker and coach, Drew Steadman has been passionately developing leaders for nearly three decades. A native of Atlanta, GA, Drew graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and the Army War College. As a US Army officer, he has commanded at every leadership level up to brigade combat team (4,800 Soldiers) and has deployed to combat five times. Drew was also privileged to serve as Military Aide to the President from 2015-2017, where he coordinated military support to the President, assisted in official functions such as Congressional Medal of Honor presentations, and carried the “nuclear football.”

In 2018, Drew published his first book, The Military Leader: Fundamental Insight Into Developing Leaders. He has also contributed to several publications, including Inc. Magazine, Military Review, Army Magazine, and the books Why We Write: Craft Essays on Writing War and Maximizing Senior Leader Health and Wellbeing.

In addition to countless speaking roles as a 23-year Army leader, Drew has been honored to deliver keynote addresses to leaders from a wide variety of industries and institutions. Most recently, he addressed the Military Mentors “Moment Conference,” where he shared leadership lessons from combat to the White House, then provided a vivid call to action to inspire perspective, presence, and humility in the audience.

Drew is an adamant believer that “everything rises and falls on leadership” and thus he weaves leadership principles into nearly every conversation. His leadership approach centers on the advice of American businessman Max De Pree, who asserted, “The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant.”

When leading others, Drew creates environments of positivity and growth, where individuals lead with curiosity, are encouraged to offer their perspective, and collaborate with mutual respect and trust to achieve shared results. Drew also believes deeply that personal growth precedes great leadership, and he is committed to helping leaders reach their full potential.

Most importantly, Drew is a husband and father of two girls and currently resides in Colorado.
