CA, USI help people feel empowered to take action to own who they are as I educate what subconsciously lies behind their fears and how to move forward in spite of feeling afraid.
I am not your average shrink but a highly specialized one focusing solely on gender issues and through focusing exclusively on gender, I became highly acquainted with people's relationships to fear that each one of us experiences. And I love it because gender and why we fear owning who we are, be it a desire to be a writer, an entrepreneur, or an artist, are subjects of deep interest to me.
Over 15+ years in the field, I have become very specialized in discussing gender issues and transgender adults specifically. As Gladwell says, the rule goes like this: it takes 10,000 hours (or approximately 10 years) of intensive practice to achieve mastery.
But . . . as I mentioned above, gender is NOT the only topic I specialized at!
You see, people often think that as a transgender psychologist, I am in the business of helping others understand their gender identity. While that is true, the biggest part of my work is helping people overcome their fears!
Understanding this unifying element unlocks resistance and helps people realize who they truly are. Be it an artist, an entrepreneur, a writer, a speaker, a designer, or other aspects that reside at the core of identity.
Hence . . . I have two signature keynotes centering around my expertise in gender and fear.
I love speaking! Early in my career, I realized my strength is my ability to communicate complex ideas and psychological concepts in easily understood and relevant ways to the general public. Since I have branched out into the frontiers of speaking to help people shift their perspectives of gender and to help audiences own who they are in spite of fear.
In fact . . . you can see me speak on almost every social platform as I share my expertise and knowledge on gender issues to help educate trans folks and, most importantly, the general public.
When I am not speaking, yes, there are quiet times in my day, I am often found on the couch with stacks of books, you guessed it, focusing on gender (and occasionally a crime novel.)
