Michelle is the author of the book, "Rise and Shine! How to Live a Life of Resilience and Perform at your Potential. Her book is dynamic and highly inspirational. It includes transformational messages with tangible tools, storytelling that captures your imagination, and original and thought-provoking poetry to cultivate the resilience needed to not only survive adversity, but to thrive as a result of it.
As a cancer survivor, Michelle knows first-hand what it takes to thrive in the face of adversity and it is because of her experience resilience has taken on a whole new meaning. Her experience has given her greater insight in understanding the dynamics of resilience and how it serves one's life within and beyond the workplace. Therefore, it has helped her to create training materials and actionable content that is grounded in authenticity with a holistic approach to challenge internal and external barriers that may hinder one's personal and professional growth.
As a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Master's Degree in Education, a military veteran of the United States Army Reserves and a former Area Director for Toastmasters International, Michelle continually uses her various skill sets to alter the careers and lives of others. It is because of her commitment to empower leaders and teams, she has become a force in bringing all of her to advancing the mission and careers of others.
When Michelle is not speaking she enjoys acting and writing poetry. One of her most notable film roles can be seen in the award winning film, "Turnipseed" based on the true life of John Turnipseed. As a trained actress, member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and award winning poet, Michelle believes her creative abilities and commitment to self-expression is what has helped her to rise and shine. It is her firm belief that when she shines, she empowers others to shine even brighter.
