FL, USAs the Senior Director of Events for Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Melinda Burdette oversees the association's domestic and international event footprint, including their signature experiences, World Education Congress (WEC) and European Events and Meetings Conference (EMEC). She is charged with the daunting task of designing experiences for thousands of meeting and event professionals that inspire them to innovate and create on their own.
Melinda is a Certified Meeting Professional and has worked in the medical, nonprofit, and corporate meetings and events industry. Because of her success and leadership, Northstar Meetings Group recognized her in October 2018 as one of the Top 25 Women in the Meetings Industry. She also leds the team that has been awarded and recognized since 2018 by Eventex for Global Association Meetings.
A die-hard Atlanta Braves and University of Georgia Bulldogs fan, Melinda once worked as part of the gameday staff for the Braves. While she loves creating and executing unique experiences for her event attendees, and is always looking for new and creative ideas, Melinda often refers to event logistics as managing controlled explosions, which makes those engineering courses from college all the more relevant.
