Tywauna has over 17 years of diverse medical laboratory and progressive healthcare leadership experience. Her mission is to empower and train one million leaders to be able to utilize their skills to lead with confidence and leave a career legacy that makes them proud.
Tywauna started her leadership journey in the clinical laboratory as a medical laboratory scientist providing complex testing to aid clinicians in accurate diagnosis and patient care. With over 15 years of experience, she has served in a variety of progressive leadership roles, with her most recent being the System Technical Director of Chemistry for one of the top regional labs in Dayton, Ohio. In this role she provides clinical expertise, strategy, standardization, and collaboration to five hospitals, two free-standing emergency departments, and a core reference laboratory.
In 2018, Mrs. Wilson, co-authored her first best-selling publication, "Dear Fear, Volume 2: 18 Powerful Lessons on Living Your Best Life on The Other Side of Fear" which challenges readers to push through fear and begin living the life they deserve. Since then she has co-authored the following best sellers; "Girl, Get Up and Win" (2019), "Gyrlfriend Code: Sorority Edition (2019), and "HBCU Experience Anthology: Kentucky State University Edition" (2020), and Don't Go Broke Trying to Be a Business Owner (2020). In 2019, Tywauna moved into the Visionary Author role and released her best-selling business collaboration book, "Leadership Tidbits" followed by "Leadership Tidbits 2" (2020) and her solo debut "Some Leaders Wear Lab Coats" (2020). These books offer practical strategies that every leader needs to know in order to elevate their career and enhance their personal lives.
Mrs. Wilson holds a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Kentucky State University and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has received several accolades including: 2021 Cardinal HealthTM Laboratory Excellence List, 2019 Ambition Magazine List, 2018 Werking Women Award, 2017 American Society for Clinical Pathology Forty Under 40 Award, 2015 UC/UC Health Martin Luther King Jr Award, 2012 Girls Scouts of Western Ohio Leaders of Promise Award, 2011 Cincinnati Business Courier Forty Under 40 Award, and 2010 YWCA Rising Star Award.
Tywauna enjoys traveling and creating new memories with her husband and their children. When Tywauna is not spending time with family and friends, she enjoys reading, writing, and exercising.
