Public Safety Opioid Response

In August of 2018 the City of New Haven experienced a mass overdosing of over 100 people in a 36 hour period.  The likes of which had not been seen by first responders in the United States.

Several partners and local response agencies came together with a mass casualty plan for response, triage, treatment, and tracking of patients.

The lessons learned from this incident continue to prove themselves invaluable to a multitude of agencies.

Chief Alston has done it again with this thoughtful, well written guide to "helping the helper." Without getting too "psychobabbly" Alston brings insight to a topic that has become a huge issue for the fire service.
