Jessica Buchanan
Jessica Buchanan is the New York Times Bestselling author of Impossible Odds: The Kidnapping of Jessica Buchanan and her Dramatic Rescue by SEAL Team VI. In October 2011, while on a routine field mission while working as a humanitarian aid worker in Somalia, Jessica was abducted at gunpoint and held for a $45million ransom by a group of Somali pirates. After being held outdoors in deplorable conditions, starved, and terrorized by more than two dozen gangsters for 93 days, Jessica was rescued by SEAL Team VI during a daring operation that required the US Navy's elite special forces unit to heroically parachute into the desert and successfully rescue her.
