Andy McLoughlin

Andy is the best investor you can have on your side because of a unique combination: his vast network of connections on both sides of the Atlantic, his experience as a founder, his great ability to form an opinion about a market sector and follow it through with his investments and his calm, thoughtful and deliberate guidance for you in building a business. As a founder, I have rarely seen all of these combined in one person. But what truly sets Andy apart is his human compassion, genuine desire to help others in any capacity. While I am truly lucky to have Andy as an investor at Cloud 66, I feel blessed to have him as a friend.

Would we have succeeded without Andy? Sure. But am I happy that Andy led our seed round? Absolutely! Andy's intros helped us get our Series A. Andy referred our incredible VP Sales. Andy helped me gain speaking slots at conferences. Andy's guidance and support have been invaluable. I am happy that we have Andy as our partner in LaunchDarkly's journey ahead.

I am hopeful to claim some credit for giving Andy his first "real" job at Fibernet (subject to departmental director agreement!). Andy is one of the most pleasant, dedicated, straightforward people I have ever met. He does exactly what he says on the tin - but with a wink and a smile and a large helping of (after sales) panache. I feel honoured to have known him.

Andy is one of the best entrepreneurs in London. He understands the power of the web to help people work better and smarter and in the Huddle application has created a tool which raises the bar for all of us. Andy is always really keen to help other people by drawing on his extensive network. He's done a lot to help me meet new people and explore ideas for new ventures. Lastly, Huddle is an awesome place to work, even for a short time, great people, great atmosphere, dedicated, professional and fun at the same time. A lot of that is down to Andy's leadership.

It has been a pleasure to work with Andy over the last year and it is great to see Huddle go from strength to strength. Andy has the rare ability to grasp complex issues and make pragmatic decisions quickly and effectively. He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of the The Simpsons, which is clearly the sign of a well-educated man.

Vision backed by a deep knowledge of the sector and a great sense of humour. Andy is a great strategic thinker and team builder who is supreme at taking people and projects where he wants them to go.

Andy has been involved with KnowledgeCenter's core product longer than anyone else besides myself. His contribution to the business has been core to its success and his broad skills make him a critical member of the business and who would be very difficult to replace. He is as adept at board level sales presentations as he is at working with software developers at the techincal level.

Fibernet was the first client for my software and although Andy did not know it at the time he was to greatly influence the future development of the software. His ability to grasp and communicate business users requirements at a technical level was impressive. I had at the time just co-founded KnowledgeCenter and at the risk angering a very good client I had to poach him.
