Dr. Robert McElroy is an expert witness, author, patent holder and serial entrepreneur in technology, transportation, energy, manufacturing, and consulting. He has provided testimony in approximately 1,000 depositions and 100 trials in the areas of accident reconstruction, vehicle technology and event data recorders.

He was formerly employed by General Motors Corporation and held the position of Dr. Goodwrench in General Motors Product Service Training. His doctorate is in Industrial Safety Engineering and Industrial Education from Texas A&M University. He was nominated for "Entrepreneur of the Year" by Inc. Magazine for his work on solar energy. He is a licensed pilot and Eagle Scout.

He has worked on numerous highway and driver safety initiatives and symposiums with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academy of Sciences.

He has extensive involvement with vehicle Event Data Recorder (EDR) technology and research initiatives with Georgia Institute of Technology and Florida Atlantic University in addition to standards development with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

He was formerly employed by General Motors Corporation as "Dr. Goodwrench" in the GM Product Service Training (GMPST) division. His name was "perpetually inscribed" in the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1987.
