
Stephen Carter
MBA, PMP
TX, USStephen Levi Carter brings with him over two decades of experience in leadership, working in finance in managerial and executive-level positions for consulting firms, medical insurance companies, oil and gas companies, and technology firms.
Stephen served as a U.S. Army combat medic during Desert Storm before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Langston University. He now holds a Master of Business Administration in change management and finance from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Mr. Carter is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers.
Stephen has owned multiple businesses including an online magazine, event promotions company, beauty salon, jazz lounge, restaurant, and a full-service accounting and tax company. He is now a founding partner and CEO of Sterling Staffing Solutions, as well as the CEO of White Orchid Hospice, a company providing palliative and hospice services to patients throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area.
Stephen also serves as CEO of White Orchid Hospice, LLC, a palliative and hospice care agency serving patients in the greater Houston, Texas area. His vision for hospice care came from his childhood memories of watching his father go through a painful demise with only the care of his loving sister. He also witnessed the pain and sorrow caused by the death of soldiers while fighting in Iraq.
Finally, he has found a way to make a difference and honor the memory of those that he has witnessed suffer so deeply in his past. Stephen is active in his community mentoring young boys age 7-17 through 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston Inc, Fort Bend Boys and Girls Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Society of Human Resources Management, Project Management Institute Houston, American Management Association and Toastmasters International. He also serves on the boards of the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston, the Better Business Bureau's Nominating Committee and Delta Academic Artistic and Philanthropic Foundation (DAAP) 2018-2019. Stephen shares his success with his beautiful wife of 17 years Daphane, who is an executive for a national charter school system, and his daughters Madison and Morgan.
