Barb Taylor *BT* Carpender, CMM, CHSC is the founder of Taylored Alliances a collection of top industry thought-leaders specializing in facilitation, training and consulting. She also is a founding member and Managing Director of Global Advisory Network, a network of like-minded industry facilitators and leaders. BT also served as the first Managing Director of HSMAI University which included setting the founding strategy and direction for HSMAI U.

Maintaining an active and high-profile involvement in the hospitality and meeting industries, BT has been involved in many professional associations and organizations. She has sustained a long-standing association with Meeting Professionals International serving on both the regional and International Board of Directors and numerous MPI committees and advisory boards. She has played an active role in advocating for and participating in the formation and evolution of the chapter board retreat facilitator programs including development of criteria and train-the-trainer programming.

Specific to customer advisory boards, BT's primary focus centers around collaborating with client organizations to further their B2B engagement through the management and facilitation of customer advisory boards; focus groups; and, strategic-focused board retreats.

Additionally, she has participated and been active in the Colorado Meetings Industry Council, Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International, American Society for Training and Development and the National Employee Services Recreation Association of Colorado and recently serving on the Advisory Board for Colorado Meetings + Events. To add to her many credentials, she was appointed by Colorado's Governor to serve as one of the sixteen Colorado delegates to the White House Conference on Travel and Tourism.

In March of 2006, the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado bestowed their 2005 Leadership Award on BT. In July of 2006 she was named MPI's International Supplier of the Year. This MPI award recognizes outstanding association and industry contributions. She also was honored with the Colorado Meetings + Events 2013 Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award and was honored in 2015 as the recipient of the Industry Legacy Award in Honor of Sandy Gerety from MPI Rocky Mt Chapter.
