NY, USI am currently three and a half years clean from a massive heroin addiction that almost killed me and destroyed my life. I overcame many tragedies such as the lost of my twenty year old sister, two best friends and over twenty other good friends in three years. I have also survived domestic violence and the challenges of mental health. My story inspires others that have hit a rock in their life and don't know how to move from under it. I was once homeless in Miami,FL and was bought and sold to various rehab centers for insurance fraud money. I had come into troubles with the law due to my choices in addiction that I overcame. I feel my story has already helped thousands of people and I am now professionally speaking at several events. I am also a nurse and mother. I have traveled the country to tell my story on different channels, documentaries, magazines, radio stations, podcasts and so fourth. It's important to stress that individualized treatment is a priority in rehabilitation facilities. If I speak at this conference I will relate to the events and coping mechanisms that benefited me. This epidemic of substance abuse is worldwide and invades basic places many people are too scared to talk about. I have found it in every crevice of life which makes it so cunning to work with. One of the biggest struggles with addiction is how we address it without enforcing stigma or helping the recovery industry reap the benefits of the endless needs for solutions. When I come to speak I get hundreds of messages from people who have many things they have not opened up about or felt comfortable talking about. This sense of connection to the messy parts of life leaves some people feeling hopeful about their future, and their family members that may be struggling. I know I have a vital story to offer to your audience. If you consider having me as a speaker you can contact me via this email or by phone.
I have spoken for 12 step meetings, Horizon Village, Kids Escaping Drugs, several schools, Just4Fun radio, Zero: 30 to recovery, Tragedy to Triumph, VOX, Overdose Awareness Rally 2019.
