Linda Larson Schlitz

WI, US
Published author, singer, songwriter and award winner

My name is Linda Larson Schlitz and I have been a Counselor/Social Worker for nearly 30 years. I was a drug addicted suicidal 21 year old in 1976 when a 16 year old girl introduced me to Jesus Christ and He gave me a purpose and a plan for my life. Since then it has been my passion to help people discover their God given purpose and get paid to do what they are gifted and interested in doing. I do that through being an inspirational speaker and trainer, counselor and life coach. I love working with schools, businesses and churches to teach them how to understand, empower and better accommodate those of us who are differently-abled and how to affirm our giftedness.

I am a published author, singer, songwriter and won last years "most creative" art award at NAMI's Healing Arts Show in Wisconsin with my scenic painting on a saw. My book "Ditzy Blonde Faucet-It's a God Thing" is a short glimpse at my life and experiences with ADHD. I wrote it in 10 days (to catch a publishers special offer) and it is a humorous yet compelling look at what goes on in the brain of someone with ADHD and how the ping pong ball thoughts actually look from the inside out.

One of my Supervisors described me as "a paradigm pioneer, unafraid to challenge the status quo." In a nutshell that means that if someone says it can't be done I will do my best to prove them wrong. It was that determination that led our community to honor me with the Athena Award and select my husband and I to get the Red Cross Hometown Hero of the Year Award for taking the most hopeless, homeless, mentally ill, chemically dependent veterans and criminal offenders and train them to develop and operate enterprise businesses that generated over $400,000 in the first 2 years of operation.

It would be my honor, and I believe God's will that I have the opportunity to reach as many people as possible to inspire them with a message of HOPE for their lives and to empower them to live out their God given hopes and dreams lri a world that desperately needs them just the way they were created to be.
