Niecy Nash
Current Project: Niecy currently stars in NETFLIX's hit teen comedy NEVER HAVE I EVER as the protagonist's personal therapist. Niecy also helms the TNT series CLAWS where she plays 'Desna' a nail salon owner. The series is currently on its 3rd season and has been renewed for it's 4th and final season, set for 2020. Niecy also appears in NETFLIX drama UNCORKED (March 27, 2020).
Television History: Niecy is an incredibly versatile actress/host/comic with countless successes under her belt. Niecy was nominated for a 2019 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for her role as 'Dolores Wise' in Ava Duverney's acclaimed WHEN THEY SEE US (Netflix). The limited series re-tells the historic wrongful conviction and imprisonment of 5 black teenagers known as the Central Park Five. She also recently starred in Lifetime's powerful film STOLEN BY MY MOTHER: THE KAMIYAH MOBLEY STORY (Jan 2020), produced by Robin Roberts the film captures the true story of Gloria Williams (Nash) - a woman who posed as a nurse and stole a baby after miscarrying herself. In 2017 - 2020, Niecy stars as nail salon shop owner on much buzzed about TNT's CLAWS, produced by Rashida Jones. In 2015 - 16, Ryan Murphy cast Niecy as security guard 'Denise Hemphill' in cult-classic dramedy FOX's SCREAM QUEENS. Niecy also starred in HBO's critically acclaimed comedy series GETTING ON, for which Nash received an EMMY nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2015 and 2016. Niecy originally landed on the map when she spent six hilarious seasons as 'Officer Raineesha Williams' on the Comedy Central hit RENO 911. She is also well known for starring on TV LAND's THE SOUL MAN for 5 seasons. Additional recent TV appearances include NBC's A.P. BIO, TBS's ANGIE TRIBECA, and ABC's MODERN FAMILY.
Hosting/Specials/Publishing History: For 9 seasons, Niecy hosted the Style Network's #1 rated home makeover show CLEAN HOUSE, for which she won a Daytime Emmy Award. In 2011, TLC produced a 2-hour television event documenting Niecy's wedding. The series garnered an astounding 5 million+ viewers and led to the creation of a docu-series for TLC called LEAVE IT TO NIECY (2011-2012). Niecy is passionate about helping people discover love and self-acceptance and she has become known as a trusted voice in this space–she has hosted her own Yahoo web series titled LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE and written a self-help book called IT'S HARD TO FIGHT NAKED.
Film History: Niecy recently appeared opposite Matt Damon in the Alexander Payne film DOWNSIZING (2017). Her film career began opposite Whoopi Goldberg in the feature BOYS ON THE SIDE (1995). Niecy appeared in the independent project TRUST ME (2013) and the Lakeshore Entertainment feature WALK OF SHAME (2013).
