Giving grief a voice by sharing her heart so others will know that healing is possible.

From the U.S. territory of Guam, Darlene discovered the Grief Recovery Method after suffering her deepest loss. Darlene's husband Frank died suddenly in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2015. Frank's death sent her into a spiral of darkness that led to isolation, fear and so many other overwhelming emotions she had no control of. She desperately sought help from all directions including her faith in God, joining a widow support group and seeing a psychologist for two months. Nothing or no one could help her find the relief from her pain that she needed. She almost lost all hope of finding light and joy again until she was introduced to the Grief Recovery Insistute's website by a friend. Unfortunately, none of the workshops she found were offered on Guam. In her desperation to make sense of the overwhelming feelings of grief that constantly consumed her, she signed up for the first workshop she could schedule and was off to Austin, Texas. After taking the Grief Recovery Method Workshop and learning the small correct actions to heal her heart, she finally saw a small spark of light and believed in joy and hope again. This was the start of a purposeful journey that she immediately embraced and six months later became certified as a Grief Recovery Specialist.

Darlene has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Customer Service and Corporate Training combined. Working in the corporate world at the time of her husband's death she experienced first hand just how little equipped organizations are to support employees when transitioning back to work after experiencing loss. This realization led her to work with corporate organizations to offer a range of programs and training that will arm them with the right tools to effectively deal with Grief in the Workplace. These programs teach organizations to honor the space of grief and provide the geniune support employees need to thrive in the workplace while they are still grieving.

Darlene is currently an advanced specialist and delivers the Grief Recovery Method through the online program and the 2-day personal workshops, not just on Guam but around the globe. She is a global speaker passionate about giving grief a voice and a Life Coach with a focus on Self Love which allows her to continue to help grievers move from recovery to discovery.

Walking this journey as a widow by teaching the Grief Recovery Method continues to allow Darlene to honor her husband's memory while helping other's heal and find purpose and meaning in their own lives.
