Bluey Robinson
A UK singer with serious soul. Born to a Swedish mother and British-Carribean father, Bluey Robinson was raised in London and grew up with his mother and younger sisters. His musical journey began as a child when he stumbled upon a collection of vinyls and turntable system at home.
Hearing the crackling sounds of the 70's and 80's played on his mothers' home vinyl player. It's not surprising then that in childhood, Bluey couldn't help but be enthralled by the classic sounds of that era. Bluey cites Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley and Marvin Gaye as some of his biggest inspirations.
In his youth, Bluey took part in yearly school productions and explored his acting and theatrical talents. Through a lunch time Indian dance class he attended, Bluey was encouraged to audition for the role of 'Young Simba' in the then, upcoming West End production of Disney's 'The Lion King.' He narrowly missed out that year but continued on the creative path and eventually earned the role of the young lion cub a year later! This experience is noted as being definitive in cultivating his craft and cementing his passion for music and the arts. "It was one of the best things I'd ever done," he remembers. "More than anything else it confirmed that whatever happened, I had to pursue my musical calling."
