Roy Purdy launched his YouTube channel on November 7th, 2012. That day, he posted his first video entitled "Halloween skate montage". The video features him skateboarding on a suburban road as children trick or treat around him. Within five years, the video has received more than 31,000 views.
On April 4th, 2013, Purdy launched his Instagram page. As of January 2018, the page has more than 1.4 million followers.
Over the next few years, Purdy continued to post videos of him skateboarding, garnering thousands of views. On July 2nd, 2014, he uploaded a video entitled "WOODWARD SKATE MONTAGE (HD)." The video, which shows Purdy skateboarding at Woodward Skate Camp, was one of the earliest to feature Purdy dancing and received more than 66,000 views in three and a half years.
Several months later, Purdy uploaded on of his first non-skateboarding related videos "FLAMINO POTATO SONG." The video received more than 15,000 views in three years.
On May 5th, 2016, Purdy uploaded an entry for the #RunningManChallenge YouTube trend. The video, which shows Purdy dancing around his high school, received more than 3.2 million views in less than two years.
Following the popularity of the Running Man video, Purdy began posting more videos of himself dancing in public. The videos, which feature him dancing at school in a banana suit became a regular fixture of the channel.
On May 29th, 2017, Purdy published his most popular video "In New York | Milly Rock." The video features Purdy dancing and skateboarding in New York City. The video also features an appearance from Backpack Kid. Within one year, the video has received more than 9.3 million views.
