Bob Crawford is a founding member of the Grammy-nominated, American Music Award-winning band, The Avett Brothers. Since 2001, he's played double bass, bass guitar, trumpet, violin, mariachi, and vocals for the popular group. They have appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the Late Show with David Letterman and are the focus of a new HBO documentary, May It Last, directed by Judd Apatow.
In 2011, Bob's two-year-old daughter Hallie was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and a relapse, Hallie has been cancer-free for five years.
In his motivational speeches and upcoming book, Bob takes us on his family's journey through the dark days of Hallie's initial diagnosis, teatment and relapse and how he has emerged with a new outlook on faith, resilience and the ability for everyone to find the fire within to overcome life's obstacles.
