One of UK's most popular and recognized personalities in the category of health and wellbeing is the talented TV presenter and nutritionist, Amanda Hamilton. She is in high demand both in the UK and the US, she is well known for her work on television and in the media, with her spa-based retreat company being the subject of more than seven TV shows in 22 countries around the world.

Amanda is on a mission to help people have a healthy relationship with food and adopt weight loss methods for long term results. Her most recent BBC series shows her applying her experience when working with families with weight problems in Slim Chance: Fix my Family. Many people know Amanda from BBC2 Sunday morning food magazine programme Something for the Weekend. She also regularly appears on GMTV as their nutritionist and weight loss expert, alongside Dr Hilary Jones. Amanda also co-presented and co-wrote "Inch Loss Island", "Bikini Diet", and "Little Black Dress" diet campaigns on GMTV. Other TV credits include Slim Chance, How to Live Longer, Should I Worry About...? and The Last Resorton BBC1.

Amanda also has great success as a writer. She has monthly columns in Top Sante and Health and Fitness magazines and is a regular contributor to newsapers and magazines on health and nutrition. She has authored two books on nutrition "Life of Detox" (Piatkus 2007) and "Life Changing Weight Loss" (Little Brown Books 2008). She has weekly and monthly columns on the MSN website, Foodies Magazine and The National in the U.A.E. amongst others. She published a book in July 2013 entitled, "Fast – why it's time to change how you eat".

She is a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists and adviser on the Scottish Government's Curriculum for Excellence Panel on Food and Health and believes that much of the diet food on offer is nutritionally lacking. She is against the concept of counting calories, believing that it creates more stress for the body, ultimately leading to weight piling back on. Amanda Hamilton is, in fact, on a bit of a personal crusade to change the way the diet industry works! To help address the on-going diet issues that face the UK, Amanda is now making her advice and knowledge accessible to all with the launch of a new online subscription weight loss programme www.amandahamilton.co.uk. Essentially, the programme focuses on helping women lose weight simply, effectively with long term results. In addition to her other roles, Amanda is a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Amanda is 43, married and lives in Edinburgh with her husband and their four children. She is a member of the Guild of Health Writers and is a registered nutritionist with BANT (British Association of Nutritional Therapy). She also has a degree in Communications and has worked previously as a journalist and newsreader.

In the 1990's, Amanda was an internationally capped badminton player. Nowadays, she is an avid skier and is training for her first marathon.
