Hear life changing perspective gained through decades of working with clients as they wrestle with the emotional side of money. Learn how to think about money differently and avoid the same regrets.

James is a husband and father of three. As a Certified Financial Planner, he has had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients over the last two decades. Years of watching those families struggle with the regrets they had built up over time lead him to change his approach in his practice. His focus is no longer just on helping people accumulate wealth with sound financial planning advice. He also focuses on helping them avoid accumulating regret along the way. The perspective he has gained through watching so many lives lived out in front of him lead him to write the book, "Living a Rich Life: The No Regrets Guide to Building and Spending Wealth". The stories he shares in the book help to illustrate how emotional money really is, and why most people are surprised by the regrets they end up with even when they follow the "rules".
James is also active in men's ministry. He speaks regularly on fatherhood and marriage. He is particularly passionate about helping men live more authentic lives that prioritize the relationships that matter.

Teaching Your Kids About Money

Failure is a part of learning.  It is not the opposite of progress, it is the definition of it.  Kids learn to walk by falling... a lot.  When it comes to money, parents tend to get in the way of the fall.  We will teach you how to approach money differently with your kids and give them access to small failures now.

The Go and The Whoa

Every couple I've ever worked with is made up of the "Go" and the "Whoa".  That is why money is such a challenge in marriage.  It is part of what attracted us to each other in the first place.  In this session, we will teach you how to recognize the value of both personalities to the relationship, and how to create agreement in marriage around money.  If you want to learn how to stop fighting about money, this session is for you!

Generosity Circuit Breakers

Lifting the burdens of others is a desire that is hard wired in us as humans.  However, when we feel that tug to help someone else, we pause.  Why?  We will teach you what causes people to miss opportunities to be generous.  We will explain the "circuit breakers" that have been switched off, and how to turn them back on.  We will also explain why generosity should be a higher priority for all of us, and how it impacts our families.
