"I am the voice of the voiceless women and children in Africa."Rosette Nabuuma is a fearless, strong, and passionate woman leader whose mission and vision has been felt globally. Her incredible journey has taken her from her humble, East African home village in Masaka, Uganda, to the esteemed halls of Universities. From working morning to evening in the fields of her homeland, to mentoring and providing a voice for thousands of at risk girls and women.

Rosette's quest and advocacy for global female empowerment has traversed many countries and destinations. However, she felt compelled to fight the many ongoing injustices in her beloved homeland, where she witnessed too many instances of brutal inequity and unfairness against female children and adult women. She channeled her rage into inspiration, her commitment, and her message. This paved the way for her to become an agent of change and take a powerful stand for equal opportunity for women.

As a young girl, Rosette was born into a polygamist family comprised of 28 children, in a village that did not believe in properly educating female children. As a result, the will to fight against and defeat a power structure and dogmatic belief structure demeaning to women was developed from a young age, and would help nurture two of her most valuable professional skills, leadership and management.

Rosette's father, going against the popular opinion of the time, made the decision that Rosette would continue with her education and also paid for her education, supporting her from post-primary all the way through university.

As the Co-Founder and Director of Candlelight Foundation Rosette has overseen many transformations and success stories. The Candlelight Foundation's core focus is to support the vulnerable girls and women by offering diverse education programs aimed at preparing them to live to their full potential.

Rosette holds a Degree in Business Computing and a Diploma in Finance from Makerere University. In addition to the BBC Degree, she has accumulated experience in Leadership and Management. This dynamic woman is also currently studying International Development at the University of British Columbia. She is blessed with two children
