Laura Williams is the founder of Williams HR Law and Williams HR Consulting, firms that provide labour and employment law and HR advice, respectively, for employers.

As the founder and principal of Williams HR Law Professional Corporation and Williams HR Consulting Inc., Laura boasts more than two decades of experience providing strategic advice and legal representation to organizations on a full range of labour and employment law matters. Laura is also regularly engaged as a workplace investigator and has conducted investigations across virtually all industries and sectors including: education, not-for profit, manufacturing, municipal, automotive, child care, financial, information technology, food processing and distribution, retail, entertainment, professional services, community agencies, security, insurance, construction, engineering and energy.


Laura is passionate about providing her clients with proactive advice designed to minimize workplace law challenges, maximize employee engagement and boost their bottom line performance. She is widely recognized as a leader in helping organizations leverage innovative strategies to reduce liability and costs derived from ineffective and noncompliant workplace practices. As a speaker, achieving the Certified Professional Speakers designation conferred by the National Speakers' Association, Laura frequently chairs, educates and keynotes at legal, HR and business seminars and conferences, and conducts customized in house training and development for organizations to help them identify and address legal risks, improve engagement levels, restore culture and optimize people management strategies. Laura is also a labour relations instructor in the University of Toronto's business and professional studies program.

In addition to her work, Laura is a member of various professional organizations and community service associations. She is a member of the international Women's Presidents' Organization and serves as the legal advisor within her Toronto based chapter. She is the past Vice-Chair of a United Way funded agency, former Governor of Holy Trinity School in Richmond Hill and is currently the Vice Chair of the 360Kids Board of Directors. She serves as a volunteer for LIFE, the Lawyers International Food Enterprise.


Williams HR Law has been multi-award winning throughout the years, including being honoured with the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce's prestigious Business Achievement Award, the York Region Business of the Year Award.
