Liz Schrayer
Liz Schrayer, a respected political strategist, has been at the forefront of political organizing and citizen advocacy in Washington, D.C. for over 30 years. After serving as the national Political Director of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) for over a decade, she founded her own consulting practice, Schrayer & Associates, Inc. in 1995, with an eye toward enhancing the political impact of non-profits and businesses. Through hands-on strategic planning and the crafting of issue-oriented advocacy campaigns, she has helped engage and mobilize tens of thousands of citizen advocates to impact a range of domestic and international policy matters.
In addition to running her own political consulting firm, Liz serves as the President & CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, a broad based coalition of over 500 businesses and NGOs that advocates for strong U.S. global engagement through international development and diplomacy, and which boasts a bipartisan Advisory Council that includes every living former Secretary of State.
Prior to her time at AIPAC, Liz worked in state government and on Capitol Hill where she founded the Congressional Human Rights Caucus. She currently serves on the Secretary of State's Committee on Public-Private Partnership, USAID's Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACFVA), and several advisory boards for the University of Michigan, including the Ford School of Public Policy. She has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and resides in Maryland with her husband Jeff Schwaber, an attorney who helped launch the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless. They are the proud parents of two grown sons.
