With numerous years of working in the corporate environment and real life business experience, his views and audience engagement is radically different. In addition to his business endeavors, Carlos teaches a semester of professional networking skills development to PhD candidates of the University of North Carolina – Charlotte's Urban Education Collaborative. He has also served a term on the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Black Chamber of Commerce and was a finalist for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Young Professional Entrepreneur of the Year.
