Korbie Perkins
Korbie Perkins is a retired police officer and the founder of Empowerment Enhanced , a non-profit 501c3. After years as a police detective, working numerous sex assault cases and cases involving children and teens she knew something had to change. At the beginning of 2017 she left law enforcement to pursue her passion for helping others and by getting life changing skills into the hands of everyday people.
Empowerment Enhanced is the result of her many years as a police detective and self-defense instructor. Korbie has extensive knowledge about personal safety and has seen firsthand how many situations might have been avoided had the individual had the knowledge and skills taught in her programs.
After working with hundreds of women she realized she heard the same thing at the end of each class:
- Why isn't this taught in the schools?
 - What about my younger kids?
 - Everyone should take this class!

She knew they were right and decided to make it happen.
Korbie's passion is connecting with people and helping them understand how they can recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations. She empowers them with the skills they may need, should they find themselves in a situation.
When it comes to teaching, Korbie offers a unique perspective, infusing humor into a serious topic, making you a bit paranoid at first, she quickly follows up with information, ideas, techniques and skills that will empower you to look at your surroundings a little differently. She encourages people to find their strengths and to realize they can and should rely on themselves. Korbie shares stories from actual cases making her students who have never been exposed to a situation realize that bad things really do happen and you need to be prepared. And for those students who are survivors, she lets them know they are not alone and while every situation is different, there are others out there fighting the same kind of battles they are.
The vision of Empowerment Enhanced is to inspire personal responsibility and respect for all humanity by providing accessible and affordable Personal Safety, Defensive Resistance to Physical Violence, Life Skills and Emergency Preparedness Education, to the community with a focus on our schools and at risk populations, achieving immediate and lasting changes in their lives, creating a society where zero-victimization becomes the norm.
